The Bloody Stream
Steeped in History
Phil’s birthday is a really special annual event in our calendar, its authenticity and celebration of his life has fans and customers returning from around the world each year.
August 2025 will mark what would have been Phil’s 76th birthday. Keep an eye out in-house and on social media platforms for details closer to the time!
Philip Parris Lynott was an Irish musician, songwriter, and poet. He was the co-founder, lead vocalist, bassist, and primary songwriter for the hard rock band Thin Lizzy.
Phil lived in Howth for part of his life and had a great connection to the peninsula. His mother Philomena was a patron of The Bloody Stream. She passed away a number of years ago but we remember her fondly for her lovely personality, charm, grace and character.
Each year at The Bloody Stream, Thin Lizzy enthusiasts and fans come together to celebrate Phil’s birthday which takes place in August.
We built a stage in his honour, aptly named the Phil Lynott stage, where musicians of all ages come together to play Rock n Roll classics including all the Thin Lizzy favourites!
We have been delighted to welcome Eric Bell, founding member of Thin Lizzy, over the years to celebrate Phil’s life.
